Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8th, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using FutureLetter, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms govern your use of the FutureLetter service (the "Service") and establish the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between you and FutureLetter. Please read these terms carefully before using the Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Service Description

FutureLetter is a web-based service that lets you write letters to yourself or someone else and schedule them for future delivery. The Service provides: β€’ Write letters using Markdown formatting β€’ Choose from 12 themes to style your letter β€’ Schedule a letter for a future date and time β€’ Download a received letter as a PDF Letters are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and scheduled based on your current browser or device timezone. FutureLetter is free for users and supported by advertising; there are no subscription fees.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the following when using the Service: β€’ Providing accurate, up-to-date email addresses and ensuring you have permission to use them β€’ Ensuring that your letter does not infringe others' rights or contain unlawful content β€’ Not using the Service for malicious purposes β€’ Not trying to access another person's letter without authorization If you violate these terms, your access may be restricted or your letters deleted.

4. Privacy

Letters are stored in Google Cloud Firestore. We do not sell your personal information. Service providers that help us run FutureLetter (for example Google for hosting, bot protection and ads, and our email delivery provider) process data as described in the Privacy Policy. Each letter is deleted automatically about 3 months after the date you chose for delivery; daily backups are kept for 7 days. If you want to keep a letter, download it as a PDF after receiving it. Please read the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Service Limitations

We work to deliver letters on time, but delivery may be delayed or fail because of: β€’ Issues with email service providers β€’ Problems with the recipient's email server β€’ Blocking by spam filters β€’ Network failures β€’ Other technical issues beyond our control We may retry delivery after a failure, but do not guarantee delivery. A letter confirmed after its delivery date has passed is held until you choose to reschedule or discard it. To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided as is, and we are not liable for delays or failures beyond our control. This does not limit liability for our intent or gross negligence.

6. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms when the Service or legal requirements change. We post updated Terms on the website with the new date. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, please stop using the Service. The latest version is available on this website.
